The week of September 8th started off really great! It was homecoming week and Monday was Hawaiian day. Rhonda and Adrian look too cute..... love the coconut bra, Adrian....
Then, Mrs. Bass came up to my room to tell me Adam was there and I needed to go and see him in the office. My heart raced and I knew whatever it was, it couldn't be good news... I thought about Rebecca driving back from CEC... I just about couldn't get my legs to make it down the stairs and to the office... that is when I found out my Grandmother had passed away. She died of a heartache while she was sleeping... It is really hard to believe she is gone. I loved her so very much... I know she is in a better place and I know that we all would love to pass on the way she did... no pain and just to go to sleep and had lived a long and happy life... it was just very sudden and I had just seen her a few weeks before and she was just a spring chicken, you know... The flowers at the funeral home were beautiful - Avril, this is the one you had sent, it was right by her casket. I miss her so....
This is Aunt Georgie - she is my grandmother's aunt. She was my Grandmother's mother's sister. She is 92, I believe.. or maybe she said that she was 92 when they took her driver's license and that was two years ago... she still lives by herself and she kept complaining that people didn't need to talk so loud to her just because she was old... she said, "I am old, not deaf.." I apparently have good genes... she just the sweetest spitfire I have ever seen.. She said, "your Grandmother just bought that new beautiful house and everything..."
I made a picture book of all my visits to see my Grandmother...It was nice to pass around at visitation... having a lot of family there really helped...and we are a really huggy loving family and I like that about our family....
Here is my Aunt Mary Lee, my Grandmother's sister who lives in Florida. We made plans for me to come in December. Her daughter Judy and her have such a good mother daughter relationship... I have wonderful women to look up to in my family too!!
This is my cousin, Hannah.... her mom and my mom are sisters... we have grown up sharing holidays and summer visits together.... she is so smart (and tall... I am 5' 8" for goodness sakes..) smart and pretty... more good genes

Becca, Madison, and Jessi, get cold at the luncheon and all try to get into Adam's suit coat...
Hannah and Tripp.... brother and sister... my first cousins.... Tripp is working on his PhD at Berkley... definately the smart gene.....
This was such a bitter sweet day.... family all together that love each other and loved my Grandmother... but the sadness of losing her... it was a roller coaster of emotions...
My Nat with Bridgett and Madison....

I stop to take a picture with my grandmother's sister and brother and sister-in-law... I plan to keep visiting Hartsville, SC and will now stay with my Aunt Dot and Uncle Happy who live right down the street from where my Grandmother lived....

This is my Grandmother's best friend Noma.... she is a wonderful lady... My Grandmother had many many good girlfriends. She taught me how girlfriends are an essential part of a woman's life...

I came back home in time to go to the homecoming game.... I sat with Rachel and her two girls.. they are so precious!!!
I got to hold the little one.... it made me think about life and how death and birth are all a part of life... and so Grandmother passed on and this little one has come and taken her place... and that is how God intended it to be..... I was glad I decided to go to the game - God really used that time to speak to me!

Hey Erin, Ethan has really grown... what are you feeding you future line backer... he slept through most of the game and I snapped this one right before he dozed off... maybe football isn't his thing..... ha!

I had to go find Jessi when it was time to leave in the Middle School area..... she is so cute with her school spirit :)
Saturday night, I go with some of my good buddies and have a great dinner... Adam was working - he was missed - but I was glad that I could come stag and still enjoy good conversation and great food ... at Andre's ...

Another moment when God really spoke to me was at church on Sunday after Grandmother passed.... it was a different birth... a rebirth.... Tony was baptised at church on Sunday... it was so cool to be there - God is so Awesome - score for the home team!!

The after school gang!! They are so much fun and make me smile every day after school!! It is the goofy part of the day when we all have had a long day at school and need to just be goofy and watch some good youtube or play old Bon Jovi tunes.... I get to hear about their school days - I am glad my room is the hang out room :)
Becca and Bryce... hangin' out at the church before band practice... aren't they a cute couple... Becca just giggles when he is around...how sweet....
Jessi has gone all out for her friend Elle who has a volleyball game at school today.... Jessi is such a cool kid that she can show her school spirit and not care about what other's think... she made the shirt and headband all by herself... I was very impressed!!
Before the game on Friday... Go Madras!!
These are my "farewell to summer decor" pictures...... Jessi and I made our summer themed wreath together this summer and then decorated the house in a beach theme and used the shells from our trips to St. George from the past 3 years....

Shells and framed pictures all over the house of the beach..... I LOVE THE BEACH!!!!

Another bitter sweet day.... Nat and I walked in the Vasculitis Walk that started 3 years ago in remembrance of our friend Keesha who died from a vasculitis disease. Keesha was a family friend and she will always hold a special place in my heart!! The day was a nice day for the walk and Nat and I got some quality sis time that we don't get us often as we should... and a good day to remember Keesha....
On Monday, I was at the gym and I got a call from Becca. She said, " mom, I have been in a wreck ..come now" I was luckily right around the corner and was there in just minutes.... when I saw her car, my legs went to mush... the whole time I stood beside her and trying to be strong and take care of the situation and just so glad that she was okay, my legs just shook under my sweatpants... they just shook uncontrollably... I was numb... she refused to go to the hospital and said she was fine... the guy in the other car was also fine but he did go by ambulance for whiplash...

It wasn't until we got back to my mother-in-law's house that it sunk in... I had to sit down and just had a good cry.... what a scary night... we ended up taking her on in to the emergency room and she had fractured her hand and the place on her knee was not broken, so we were glad about that....
I am so glad that she is okay.... when I look at these pictures, it still makes me tear up....
My spirit girl is at it again... she volunteered to make the spirit stick for the pep rally.... so that meant I had also been volunteered... it turned out right cute....
Adam and I took off this weekend for Huntsville, Alabama to visit Scott and Beth, Adam's sister and brother-in-law. They bought us tickets to the Big Spring Jam and we listened to some really good bands... here we are at Buckcherry....

We had a really good time chillin' and just getting away for a few days.... we got to see their new house, which is beautiful and just hang out....
After Buckcherry, we head over to another stage to watch, Styx.... next year we are planning to come back and take the girls!!

This weekend was museum week, so we got into the NASA museum for free - too cool!! I was so excited!! I love stuff like this - and Scott works there and was the perfect guide!! He is an engineer for NASA and his boss's picture is up on the wall in the museum - she is a woman astronaut.... I am telling you...... way cool!!

Kodak moment shot.....
Ginger, can you tell me what I am really thinking......

Thank you, Beth and Scott for an Awesome trip!! We really had a great time!!

I took some pictures of my Halloween decorations - what I replaced all of my seashells with.... I love decorating for the different seasons.... notice there are three brooms hung by the front door..one for each of us....Hah!

September has a been such an emotional month... one minute I am sad and crying, the next minute I am happy and crying, another minute I am laughing... and every emotion in between... I am even more thankful now, for my family and for my friends. That is what life is about... God's love for us and His will for us to love each other -
